What is the MCASV?The MCASV is the local chapter of the Archeological Society of Virginia in the central Shenandoah Valley. We have been involved with archaeology in this area since 1979. The chapter is composed of people from all backgrounds, including retired folks, archaeologists, students, and others. But we all have in common a love of archaeology and the desire to increase our knowledge of those who have come before us here in the Valley. Chapter members have opportunities to participate in survey and excavation of archaeological sites, field trips, and fellowship activities throughout the year.
